we don’t lie to have no stand or opposition: Addis Neger

On its second issue, Addis Neger’s columnist Mesfin Negash has tried to reflect their papers basic Journalistic altitude. He especially highlighted that they won’t be abided or fooled by tale- like beliefs concerning freedom of press and partiality. His assertion seems to be a bold utterance that shows the underlying reality.

“There are lots of tale-like beliefs concerning press freedom and partiality in every country and also in Ethiopia,” He wrote.

“When we embarked on establishing Addis Neger, one of the principles we put is not to be abided or fooled with these tale-like beliefs and magical theories. These altitudes, which well tested experiences could defy, will undoubtedly hurt the journalist and the reader as well. So, we don’t lie ourselves and our readers saying that there would be nothing which we stand for or oppose. We ask if it is really possible to be neutral in the complicated life we know. The possibility is in doubt.”

He finally concluded his argument that It would be better to hold onto a stand which benefits oneself and the courtly at large, instead of lingering to a particular stand blindly driven by temper.  “And this is what we mange to do,” confided Mesfin.
