The young musical sensation of the time, Tewodros Kassahun a.k.a Teddy Afro was taken to Addis Ababa Central Prison Centre on Tuesday, April 16 after the Federal High Court Eighth Criminal Bench adjourned to rule over his appeal for right to bail on charges of murder. He is believed to be taken to Kaliti Prision centre. Teddy will stay there as the court is adjourned for Monday, April 21 to decide whether or not Tewodros be granted release on bail.
Many fans believe that Teddy is set up for the charge by the government that is supposed to resent Teddy’s public acceptance in his political reprimands by some of his songs
.
Editorial staffs of fortune, the English weakly, were in the same court to defend the changes pressed on them by Hayat Plc. and could relate the situation and Teddy’s reaction. Fortune’s website was updated on the day with the news of Teddy’s arrest.

I love Tedy myself, but his innocence can not be based on his talent. Talent has nothing to do with this allegation.
If he kills a person, then he should pay for it regardless of his celebrity status. How do you fell if the person who got killed is your family member? Will you excuse him just because he is outstanding musician? I didn’t think so.
The problem with us Ethiopians is we are too emotional people.
Once again he might be innocence, was accused on wrong doing like many Ethiopians in prison, we will find out soon. And I wish him all the best and I am deeply sorry of what happen.

I am no judge of character but i truly am deeply hurt by Teddy’s arrest. Regardless of his fame and fortune or celebrity status i do not think anyone in their right mind can take another human being’s life away. Teddy is a good human being a man of strength, a man of morals and values and a man of integrity and respect. He is strong willed and is from a serious Christian background therefore i totally disagree that he did what he has been accused of doing. All i can say to Teddy is, the Lord we all beleive and trust in, is in control. Fear not, for he will be standing before you in that courtroom and he will grant you your right and freedom. This is a testing time and all you can do is just be patient and have trust in Jesus and i am positive God will see you and your family + your loved ones through this difficult time. And whoever is behind this will pay and pay dearly because what goes around comes around and comes around real fast. Just know that you are very important to a whole lot of people around this world and you mean alot to them too from your friends to your family and to your fans all around the world. First, Teddy is a great artist who transformed/contributed to the music industry a great deal. in return he made a fortune and a name for himself. – I ain’t mad at him! good job. but that is that!
Second teddy was imprisoned on the terms of hit-and-run allegedly killing another ‘helpless’ human being. Now if his witness and reasoning has proven to be correct he will be released if not he ought to legally responsible to the man he performed vehicular homicide.
Now, if we choose bypass the fact that he killed someone on the mere alignment of him as a role model is totally senseless. We should be asking our conscious what exactly makes a role model… because someone is able to stir our dull emotion with beats and words and phrases … we just don’t claim that person to be a hero hence to give him a refugee from all responsibilities…
I personally don’t think teddy’s rubbing off with the government has caused his incarceration. if teddy is in the truth side, believe you me! the truth shall set him free. else he has to be responsible.
on a slight different note, how come we Ethiopians are so angry about Teddy’s situation but NOT mad at our current naked impoverished state of existence? it is amazing to me how we can be so complacent about the ever beggar, hunger stricken way of life of millions in our nation? but, teddy’s imprisonment is such a shocking life impact moment of truth! 1. he definately have no driving licence which he can have with 30 minutes u see extra careless……of him and those around him.
any one having a family and friends can not do this ok
2. he lied that he was with his friends at 23 till 9 ocklock in the evening but he was actually there at the time of the accident.
